2008 Call for Presentations - Criteria
Submission Criteria
The URAC 2008 Call for Presentation Proposals process is competitive. The submission of a proposal is not a guarantee for selection. All proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis by the URAC Education Committee, which is comprised of health care, legal and regulatory, and IT professionals from all segments of the health care industry.
URAC asks that you follow these guidelines to help our reviewers evaluate each proposal using the same criteria:
- A presenter may submit up to two (2) different proposals annually.
- An organization may submit up to six (6 ) different proposals annually.
- Proposals received that are not complete will not be reviewed.
- Submissions will only be accepted through the URAC online submission form.
Selection Criteria
Throughout the evaluation process, reviewers use the following criteria in evaluating the presentation proposals:
- Practical application
- Relevance
- Timeliness
- Innovation
- Specificity
- Clarity
- Quality Focus
- Level
- Expertise
Please be aware that initial acceptance is not a guarantee that your presentation will be used in the URAC 2008 Educational series. Once a proposal has been initially accepted, it is then reviewed by the specific conference or workshop planning committee for inclusion at a specific URAC educational offering during 2008. If selected to participate in a specific conference or workshop, you will receive an invitation approximately 2 months before the date of the event via email.
Acceptance Criteria
Once you have accepted URAC's invitation to present, you will receive a packet of information outlining the terms of your participation. Some of these terms are:
- You will be required to submit a handout of your presentation for inclusion in both the conference notebook that is distributed to audience participants and on the conference web site.
- You will be instructed as to the length of your presentation (approximately 20-60 minutes depending on the format of session) and the number of other speakers (if any) in the session. You must ensure that your presentation meets the time limits established.
- You must agree to allow 10-15 minutes at the end of the session to address questions from the audience.
- You will receive a complimentary registration to the conference at which you speak.
Please note that in most cases, all speaking related expenses are the responsibility of the speaker and URAC does not pay fees or honorariums to speakers of any kind.
