Measurement
Measurement Development
Historically, URAC has offered accreditation programs and, in more recent years, education programs to its clients. Beginning in 2007, with direction from our Board of Directors, URAC envisioned a long-term process of offering measures, producing industry reports, and eventually serving both purchasers and consumers better by providing enhanced information to help them select among URAC-accredited companies. This journey is reflected in the following graphic:

URAC is on a multi-year, multi-phase path for developing and reporting mandatory performance measures. Although the rates that organizations provide to URAC will not be publicly reported in the first phase of the measurement program, URAC encourages organizations to use them for internal quality improvement and reporting to purchasers. Over time, organizations will develop their capacity to report on measures, and URAC will refine the measures and develop a method for auditing them. We will then begin to make de-indentified aggregate data publicly available. Ultimately, identified, audited data will be reported on URAC’s web site.
