URAC ACCREDITED
COMPANY MONITORING PROGRAM
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
My company holds a Full Accreditation status for a 2 year period. We did not elect the 3-year accreditation option. Could URAC select my organization for a URAC Monitoring Onsite Review?
Yes. All companies holding Full Accreditation for both 2 and 3-year accreditation cycles are subject to a Monitoring Onsite Review.
If my company receives a Monitoring Onsite Review, will my organization have to pay anything?
No. If an organization receives an Monitoring Onsite Review, URAC will not invoice the organization for travel or onsite fees. Please note that URAC will continue to conduct scheduled onsite reviews as part of the application process, follow- up onsite reviews (as required for the accreditation or reaccreditation process) or other “ for cause” onsite reviews such as those conducted as part of a grievance investigation. Organizations will be invoiced for travel and onsite fees associated with these onsites.
My company is accredited under the URAC Health Web Site Program. Will my organization be subject to a Monitoring Onsite Review at our office?
Monitoring Onsite Reviews for Health Web Site accredited companies will be similar to the application review process and typically will occur through an on-line review of the organization’s accredited web site. Please note that in rare circumstances, URAC may determine that an onsite visit to the physical location of a HWS applicant or accredited organization is warranted.
If URAC selects my company for a Monitoring Onsite Review, how much notice will we receive prior to the onsite?
Organizations may receive anywhere from a 1-business day notice to 5-business day notice for the Monitoring Onsite Reviews. URAC’s Accreditation Department will contact the designated URAC primary contact person on file for your organization via email or telephone. The organization will also receive an agenda that notes the of arrival time of your Accreditation Reviewer and the Monitor Onsite activities that will be conducted during the onsite visit.
What if URAC plans to conduct the Monitoring Onsite Review on a day that is less than opportune for our organization (e.g., the organization’s primary contact person is on vacation)?
The organization’s primary contact person is not required to be available for the Monitoring Onsite Reviews. URAC’s goal for the Monitoring Onsite Review is to focus mostly on URAC standards that URAC deems to be relevant to the consumer, such as auditing for current licensure and appeals for the Health UM and WC UM program. Other activities typically conducted during a full application onsite, such as interviews with staff will be limited in order to avoid disruption of the organization’s daily operations.
