Home Infusion Therapy has moved away from a service predominantly provided by home health agencies to one increasingly reliant on pharmacies. URAC, the industry leader in pharmacy accreditation, has long supported the professional role of pharmacists. The launch of a Home Infusion Therapy Supplier (HITS) Accreditation Program focusing on the role of the pharmacist in providing infusion therapy services is a natural addition to our Pharmacy Quality Management® suite of programs. Additionally, home infusion therapy suppliers must be accredited by January 1, 2021 to qualify for bundled payment reimbursement by Medicare.

On June 27, 2019, 1-2pm Eastern time, Deborah Smith, URAC product development principal, and Heather Bonome, URAC director of pharmacy, provided an overview of this new URAC Home Infusion Therapy Program in a one-hour client-only webinar.

During this webinar, URAC addressed:

  • Why URAC developed this program
  • What requirements are included in the standards
  • How the standards align with CMS requirements
  • Who is eligible to apply
  • How to get started

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the Home Infusion Therapy Supplier Accreditation Program.
