HIPAA Privacy compliance is an important part of every PHI-handling organization's operational strategy. By identifying sources of PHI flow and instituting appropriate policies and procedures, any organization's risk profile - whether a Business Associate or Covered Entity - can be effectively managed and lowered.

URAC's thorough accreditation process constitutes the highest level of due diligence for organizations seeking to validate their HIPAA Privacy compliance program. With the assistance of a committee of HIPAA experts, URAC developed the HIPAA Privacy Standards to provide a benchmark to promote quality in HIPAA Privacy compliance programs.
