URAC Announces The Pulse on Clinical Integration, a New Monthly Publication

Thursday, May 29th, 2014

In partnership with Dorland Health, the new publication will be the knowledge source on everything clinical integration

Washington, DC, May 29, 2014 ― URAC, a leader in promoting healthcare quality, is pleased to announce the launch of its new monthly publication, The Pulse on Clinical Integration. In partnership with Dorland Health, each monthly issue will feature topics in all areas of clinical integration, from preventive to end-of-life care.

“As the healthcare industry continues to evolve toward greater integration, this new resource will be the knowledge hub for everything related to clinical integration” said Kylanne Green, URAC’s chief executive officer. “Clinical integration is not just about providers and their patients, but about the entire industry collaborating and forming new partnerships. Because URAC touches various sectors in health care, we are in a unique position to provide exclusive insights into current industry trends.”

The Pulse on Clinical Integration is the update to URAC’s previous resource Medical Home Today. While the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) is the first step to quality care, making the transition from the PCMH to clinically integrated systems is essential as the industry moves forward from pay-for-volume to pay-for-value. Clinical integration requires providers to work together to share clinical data within a framework and network more expansive than a medical home, with the shared goal of rendering necessary care to patients in an efficient manner with the best possible outcomes.

URAC is the first organization to offer Clinical Integration Accreditation and developed the program to address the need for unaffiliated practices and providers to operate in a well-coordinated cohesive manner across the healthcare network.
