URAC Applauds Bipartisan Senate Confirmation Of Marilyn Tavenner as CMS Administrator

Washington, DC — May 16, 2013 – Vernon Rowen, Senior Vice President, External & Legal Affairs, URAC, released the following statement regarding Senate confirmation yesterday of CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner: “URAC applauds the Senate for acting on a bipartisan basis yesterday to confirm Marilyn Tavenner as CMS Administrator. Ms. Tavenner’s highly regarded clinical, policy, and administrative background, coupled with her demonstrated ability to build bridges, will serve the agency and its beneficiaries well. URAC looks forward to working with Administrator Tavenner and her team to help advance a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout health care, including through mandatory accreditation of health plans offered on new state health insurance marketplaces.”
