URAC Pharmacy Accreditation Expert to speak at the NASP Annual Meeting and Educational Conference

WASHINGTON, DC – September 13, 2017 – URAC Director of Pharmacy, Heather Bonome, Pharm.D., will participate in a panel discussion at National Association of Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting and Educational Conference in Washington, DC.

Bonome will present at the session “Accreditation in Specialty Pharmacy” on Wednesday, September 20 at 1:15 pm. She will review URAC’s Accreditation Process, URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation Standards and what makes URAC’s program unique.

URAC offers the leading program in America for the accreditation of specialty pharmacies. Hundreds of pharmacy operations have received or applied for URAC recognition for their quality in handling specialty drugs, meeting standards in areas such as patient and drug management, pharmacy operations, and customer service as well as collecting performance measures.

Bonome oversees pharmacy accreditation, its review team and the independent advisory groups and governance committees that assist URAC in defining best practices and quality standards. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and completed a post-graduate pharmacy residency in managed care. Prior to URAC, she spent almost 15 years in the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) field.
