URAC’s Foundational Focus Area standards require that organizational workforce practices support diversity, equity and inclusion in ways that work best for their individual organizations.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals face challenges including increased rates of obesity, tobacco use, depression, substance use disorder and violence. In addition, LGBT individuals are less likely to have health insurance and 15% of LGBT Americans reported postponing or avoiding medical treatment due to discrimination.
URAC’s Health Equity Accreditation is a way for any health care organization to demonstrate their commitment to health equity. Our three-component program lets your organization show how health equity is woven into your organizational structure, your health equity program including evaluation and metrics, as well as the services you provide for any underserved population.
