Why Measures Matter
URAC includes measures in the accreditation programs to align and harmonize with national priorities for health care quality and delivery improvement. Performance measures allow URAC-accredited organizations to:
- Monitor quality annually to ensure that cost saving efforts are not at the expense of the quality of care delivered.
- Allocate resources to target the areas for improvement, allowing organizations to effectively and efficiently deliver care while conserving scarce resources.
- Obtain benchmarks from URAC that permit comparisons among organizations.
