Rooted in our value “we value people,” URAC reaffirms support for parity, access and stigma reduction
This week marks Mental Illness Awareness Week, observed nationally in the U.S. during the first full week of October to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage support for individuals living with mental health conditions. At URAC, our corporate value of we value people underscores our conviction that mental health care must be accessible, equitable and without barriers.
Through our accreditation programs, including Mental Health at Work Accreditation and Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Accreditation, we work with employers, payers and health systems to strengthen structural support, enforce parity and promote respectful, stigma-free treatment. URAC is committed to helping organizations and communities recognize mental illness not as an individual weakness but as a shared public health priority.
