April is National Minority Health Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of improving health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority communities and addressing persistent disparities in care. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention highlights this observance each year to underscore the need for action across the health care ecosystem, from improving access to addressing the social and environmental factors that influence health.
At URAC, we recognize that advancing health equity requires sustained commitment, accountability and action. URAC’s Excellent Health Outcomes Accreditation (formerly Health Equity Accreditation), developed in partnership with National Minority Quality Forum, reflects a focus on measurable outcomes and meaningful improvement. National Minority Health Month is an opportunity to recognize the work being done across the health care landscape to support better health for all communities.
