A new report from Wolters Kluwer reveals a major disconnect in health care: while 80% of leaders say generative AI could reduce burnout and improve workflows, only 63% feel ready to implement it. Even fewer have formal AI policies, or staff training in place.
The takeaway? Health care organizations want innovation but lack the guardrails to ensure it’s used safely, ethically and effectively.
That’s where URAC comes in. Launching in Q3 2025, URAC’s Health Care AI Accreditation will allow organizations to rely on our independent authority-built standards to address the need for responsible AI use. URAC developed the accreditation in partnership with more than two dozen expert organizations including the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Verily, AHIP and Northwell Health. The program offers clear, independent standards for both AI developers and health care providers who use AI.
As the urgency to implement AI grows in health care, URAC’s accreditation offers a trusted path forward, one that protects patients while enabling meaningful innovation.
