A new survey reported by Medical Economics found that more than half of Americans trust health information generated by artificial intelligence (AI) tools. That includes symptom checkers, medical chatbots and even diagnosis suggestions.
This level of public trust reflects how quickly AI is becoming part of everyday health care. But it also raises important questions: Are these tools reliable? Are they safe? And who’s making sure they’re used responsibly?
That’s where URAC’s Health Care AI Accreditation comes in. This new accreditation, launching in Q3 2025, will help ensure that AI tools used in health care are transparent, evidence-based and patient-centered. It offers health care organizations a framework for responsible AI deployment, whether in virtual care, clinical decision support or pharmacy operations.
AI has the power to transform care, but only if trust is matched by accountability. URAC’s accreditation sets a high bar for organizations looking to integrate AI safely and ethically.
