URAC is proud to announce the launch of its Health Care AI Accreditation, the first program in the nation to establish trusted standards for responsible use and development of artificial intelligence in health care.
Artificial intelligence is transforming the delivery of care, from diagnostics to administrative processes, but questions of safety, equity and accountability remain. URAC’s new accreditation program gives health care providers and AI developers a way to demonstrate their commitment to quality and responsible innovation.
“Patients and providers deserve confidence that AI tools in health care are used responsibly, ethically and with a focus on quality outcomes,” said URAC President and CEO Shawn Griffin, MD. “This accreditation sets a benchmark that health care organizations and technology developers can rely on.”
The Health Care AI Accreditation is available in two pathways: one for organizations that use AI in health care delivery and one for organizations that develop AI technologies. Both pathways emphasize transparency, safety and clinical oversight, ensuring that AI serves patients and communities in a trustworthy way.
