A new report from Indeed, highlighted by Becker’s Hospital Review, shows that one in four health care workers is considering leaving the industry, and many say their roles feel unsustainable.
Workers cited exhaustion, dissatisfaction and lack of effective support, with most saying current initiatives do not address core issues like workload and staffing. These findings reflect ongoing challenges across the health care workforce as employers navigate burnout and retention pressures.
URAC’s Mental Health at Work Accreditation gives employers a structured way to respond to these concerns by evaluating leadership engagement, policies and long-term strategies that support workforce mental health. URAC’s most recent issue paper, Supporting Mental Health in the Health Care Workforce, explores these issues and highlights success stories of health care organizations that built safer, healthier work environments.
