A recent article by Pharmacy Times addresses what URAC already knows: community pharmacies are there when you need them to serve you and your community close to home.
“Community pharmacies not only dispense medications, they also provide medication management, administer vaccines, conduct preventive screenings for conditions such as diabetes and connect people to care they need,” says Heather Bonome, PharmD, URAC’s Director of Pharmacy. “We are proud to work with pharmacies providing this important and often just-in-time care.”
URAC created its Pharmacy Services Accreditation for community pharmacies that provide vaccine administration, point-of-care testing, drug therapy management and/or community dispensing.
