URAC congratulates Federal Hearings and Appeals Services (FHAS) for becoming the first organization to achieve URAC’s Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) Designation.
This milestone sets a new benchmark for quality and fairness in the administration of the federal No Surprises Act, demonstrating FHAS’s commitment to excellence, neutrality and consumer protection. URAC developed the IDR Designation to ensure that organizations providing dispute resolution services meet rigorous standards for conflict-of-interest safeguards, decision-making protocols, data security and continuous improvement. These standards help create greater trust and accountability in resolving disputes between health plans and providers over out-of-network claims.
“URAC’s Independent Dispute Resolution Designation establishes clear expectations for fairness, transparency and quality in how disputes are managed under the No Surprises Act,” said Shawn Griffin, MD, President and CEO of URAC. “We congratulate FHAS for being the first to earn this designation and for demonstrating leadership in protecting patients and strengthening trust in health care.”
